State of the x402 Bazaar

Updated 2026-10-09

Counts, prices, networks and metadata quality for the Coinbase CDP x402 Bazaar, computed from Tanod's daily index of the public discovery list. Numbers are regenerated from the index; the method is at the end. For what to fix in your own listing, see the listing checklist; for payer counts, see what agents pay for, and for the routes that payers come back to, where repeat buyers spend.

Share of listings that accept payment on each network. A listing can accept several, so shares add to more than 100%.

Payment schemes

The x402 scheme in each listing's payment options: exact charges a fixed price per call, upto lets the seller charge actual usage up to a signed maximum, batch-settlement settles many signed vouchers in one on-chain transaction. A listing can offer several. Paying wallets are the Bazaar's own 30-day unique-payer count; when one host holds most of a scheme's listings (see Largest host's share) the payer columns mostly describe that host, so read them as description, not cause.

Metadata quality

CheckListingsShare
Description has a "use when" sentence2,2885.6%
Description over 500 characters (the CDP limit)1300.3%
Description empty or missing1050.3%

The 2,288 listings with a use-when sentence come from 129 hosts; agentshelf.syntexa.ch alone accounts for 1,193 of them (52.1%).

Output schema: the discovery list our index reads does not carry an output schema field (0 of 40,769 records include one), so we cannot report how many listings omit it. The CDP validate call reports it per endpoint; see the listing checklist.

The Bazaar without templated bulk hosts

A few hosts publish hundreds or thousands of listings from one URL template with near-identical descriptions. We score every host in our index (see Method) and flag 19 of 23,185 as templated bulk hosts. They account for 3,169 of 40,769 Bazaar listings (7.8%); without them the Bazaar holds 37,600 listings. Across all sources in our index the share is 14.0%.

The flag is a statistical description of listing metadata, not a judgement about any host or its service. Agent index queries can drop these hosts with exclude_farms: true.

Churn

Our index holds 10 daily snapshots of the Bazaar so far, so this is a short window, not a trend.

Added means present on the later day and not the earlier; removed is the reverse. A listing missing from one daily fetch counts as removed even if it returns later, and the CDP catalog also drops endpoints that go 30 days without a settlement.
