How to rotate a PDF

  1. Choose the PDF.
  2. Use the arrows under a page to turn it, or Rotate all to turn every page.
  3. Press Save rotated PDF and download it.

Rotation that stays put

Scanners and phone cameras often save pages sideways. A PDF reader can turn the view, but that setting usually isn't saved, so the next person sees the pages sideways again. This tool writes the rotation into the file.

Each PDF page carries a rotation value of 0, 90, 180 or 270 degrees. Changing it is instant and lossless: the text, images and drawings on the page stay exactly as they were.

Tips

Questions

Does rotating reduce quality?

No. Rotation is stored as a page setting, the same way PDF readers do it, so the page content isn't touched or re-rendered.

Will the rotation stick when I open the file elsewhere?

Yes. The rotation is saved in the PDF itself, so every reader shows the pages the way you set them. That differs from the rotate button in most viewers, which only changes the view.

Can I rotate only some pages?

Yes. Each page has its own rotate buttons; pages you don't touch keep their current orientation.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The pages are previewed and the rotated file is written in your browser.
