Vietnam e-invoice viewer
Open a Vietnamese electronic invoice (hóa đơn điện tử) and read it as an ordinary invoice: invoice symbol and number, seller, buyer, lines, VAT by rate and the tax authority's code. The XML is read in your browser and never uploaded.
Your files never leave your device
Drop an e-invoice here
XML, a PDF with an invoice inside (ZUGFeRD, Factur-X) or a signed .p7m. Or drag it anywhere on this page.
Opened on this device. Nothing is uploaded.
Only the start of a long file is shown here. Download the XML to get all of it.
One file at a time, up to 25 MB; the first 5,000 line items are shown. Reads the invoice XML of Decree 123/2020 and Circular 78/2021 (root element HDon, also when wrapped in a TDiep message from the tax authority), coded or not coded. The digital signatures (DSCKS) are not verified. Viewer only: it does not validate the invoice and does not look anything up with the tax authority.
How to open a Vietnamese e-invoice
- Choose the invoice XML you saved from your e-invoice provider, the tax authority's portal or your accounting software, or drag it onto the page.
- Read the invoice: symbol (KHHDon) and number (SHDon), the tax authority's code (MCCQT) if the invoice has one, seller (NBan), buyer (NMua), lines, VAT by rate, totals and payment.
- Press Print or save as PDF, Download JSON, or Show raw XML.
Vietnam's electronic invoices
Since the Decree 123/2020/ND-CP and Circular 78/2021/TT-BTC, businesses in Vietnam issue hóa đơn điện tử, electronic invoices, as XML files in a format set by the tax authority. An invoice either carries a code from the tax authority (hóa đơn có mã, shown in the element MCCQT) or is issued without one. The XML is the invoice; the readable version is a drawing of it. This page makes that drawing in your browser from the XML you have.
What the viewer shows
You see the invoice name and version, the form number (KHMSHDon), the symbol (KHHDon), the number (SHDon), the date (NLap), the tax authority's code (MCCQT) when there is one, the seller (NBan) and the buyer (NMua) with their tax codes (MST), addresses and contacts, every line with unit, quantity, price, discount and VAT rate, VAT by rate (THTTLTSuat), the totals, the amount in words and the payment details. For an adjusting or replacing invoice (TCHDon), the invoice it refers to is shown. Amounts are shown exactly as in the file.
It does not verify the digital signatures (DSCKS), does not validate the invoice against the tax authority's schema and rules and does not look the invoice up. Invoices in other formats, such as the older invoices of Circular 32/2011, are not read.
Tips
- Download JSON gives you the invoice as plain data, with the Vietnamese field names mapped to the EN 16931 business terms.
- Other formats open here too: XRechnung, ZUGFeRD / Factur-X, FatturaPA, KSeF, Peppol and the Turkish e-Fatura. The page suggests the matching viewer when you open one.
- Show raw XML helps when you need an element that the readable invoice does not show.
Questions
Is the invoice uploaded or sent to the tax authority?
No. This page does not connect to the tax authority, to your provider or to any server. The XML is read in your browser and shown on this page, and closing the tab clears everything.
Is the digital signature verified?
No. The signatures in the DSCKS element (the seller's and, on a coded invoice, the tax authority's) are not verified. A file that carries one is flagged with a note, but this page cannot tell you who signed the invoice or whether it was changed afterwards. Use your provider's or the tax authority's tools if you need that.
What are the invoice symbol and the MCCQT?
The invoice symbol is made of the form number (KHMSHDon) and the symbol (KHHDon, for example C24TAA), and the number is SHDon. The MCCQT is the code that the tax authority gives to a coded invoice (hóa đơn có mã). An invoice without a code has no MCCQT. All of them are shown as the file gives them; this page cannot check that a code is genuine.
Can it open the message that comes back from the tax authority?
Yes. If the XML is a TDiep message with the invoice inside DLieu, the invoice is taken out and shown. Other message types, and invoices in older formats, are not read.
How are VAT rates shown?
Rates such as 10%, 8%, 5% and 0% are shown as rates. KCT (not subject to VAT) and KKKNT (not declared or paid) are shown as the code the file gives, next to the matching VAT category. A rate written as KHAC:x% is shown as the rate x.
Where do I get the XML of an invoice?
Your e-invoice provider and the tax authority's portal let you download the invoice as an XML file, and accounting software can export it. This page reads the XML file you saved, not the PDF.
