PII redaction APIs for agents, price per call
Updated 2026-10-13
Snapshot 2026-10-12
An agent that must store, log or pass on text with emails, phone numbers or card numbers in it can pay per call to have them masked first. We index the x402 Bazaar and PayAI listings daily. On 2026-10-12 we found 18 offers from 17 sellers that return the text with personal data replaced, from USD 0.002 to USD 0.15 per call. Another 11 offers only detect personal data and leave the text unchanged; they are listed separately below. Single-purpose tools (emails only, digits only) start at USD 0.001 and are left out.
Listed x402 price for PII redaction of text: USD 0.002 to USD 0.15 per call across 18 offers (snapshot 2026-10-12); median USD 0.005. Tanod's redaction route, POST /v1/text/redact at USD 0.002, has passed its tests and goes live with our next deploy; until then it does not answer.

Which listings agents actually pay
The Bazaar reports, per listing, how many distinct wallets paid it and how many paid calls it served in the last 30 days. For PII redaction the answer is: hardly any. Of the 14 Bazaar listings in the table, 13 report 1 to 4 paying wallets and 1 to 6 paid calls. That pattern matches the small group of explorer wallets that pay almost every new listing once (see who pays new x402 listings), not agents with a recurring need. The one exception is agent.pocket.network, with 4 wallets and 50 paid calls; it is also the only offer here that says it masks names and addresses. Counts are as Coinbase's Bazaar reports them, not verified by us; PayAI listings carry no counts.
So a buyer here has many sellers and no clear market leader, and a seller should not expect volume from a listing alone.
Every redaction offer
Ordered by price. The text paraphrases each listing; we have not called these endpoints and say nothing about their quality.

What to check before you pick one
- What it misses. Pattern-based redactors find emails, phone and card numbers reliably, but almost none find person names or street addresses. A listing that does not say which types it skips should be tested on your own text.
- False positives. Order numbers, timestamps and version strings look like phone or card numbers. Checksums (Luhn for cards, mod-97 for IBANs) and issuer prefixes cut these down.
- The replacement. Typed placeholders such as
[EMAIL]keep the text readable for a model; stars keep length; a hash lets you match the same value across records, but a short value such as an SSN can be recovered from an unsalted hash. - Where your text goes. Every one of these is a third-party call: the unredacted text reaches the seller. Prefer sellers that state they do not store input.
Method
Records from the x402 Bazaar and PayAI in Tanod's agent index, last seen in the 3 days to 2026-10-12, priced above zero, matched on PII, personal data, de-identification and redaction wording, then reviewed by hand: listings that only mention redaction in passing (WHOIS, company registries, property data) were removed, as were single-type tools and listing farms. One URL counts once at its lowest price. Tanod's own hosts are excluded from the statistics. Prices are per call as listed, not a measure of what any call returns.
