Exchange reserves APIs for agents, price per call
Updated 2026-10-13
Snapshot 2026-10-12
An agent that wants to know how much of a coin sits on exchanges, and whether it is moving in or out, can buy that answer per call over x402. We index the x402 Bazaar and PayAI listings daily. On 2026-10-12 we found 3 sellers with 9 distinct priced offers on 4 hosts that sell exchange reserves, exchange balances or exchange flows. They list from USD 0.004 to USD 0.05 per call. Tanod's route lists at USD 0.01. This is a small group and one seller, Glassnode, holds 5 of the 9 offers, so read the table by seller before the median.
Listed x402 price for exchange reserves and exchange flows: USD 0.004 to USD 0.05 per call across 9 offers from 3 sellers (snapshot 2026-10-12). Tanod: USD 0.01 for POST /v1/chain/exchange-reserves, below 6 offers and above 3.
The numbers
| Measure | Value |
|---|---|
| Matching priced listings, last seen in the 3 days to 2026-10-12 (x402 Bazaar and PayAI) | 10 |
| Distinct offers after collapsing duplicates | 9 from 3 sellers on 4 hosts |
| Lowest listed price | USD 0.004 |
| First quartile | USD 0.005 |
| Median | USD 0.05 |
| Third quartile | USD 0.05 |
| Highest listed price | USD 0.05 |
| Tanod exchange reserves route | USD 0.01: 3 offers list less, 0 list exactly this, 6 list more |
The median is USD 0.05 only because 5 of the 9 offers are Glassnode metrics at that price. With 3 sellers the quartiles say little. The table by seller below is the better guide.

Prices are per call as listed, in USD, not a measure of what any call returns. The two cheapest sellers sell reserves per exchange, not per coin (see below).
Which listings agents actually pay
The Bazaar also reports, per listing, how many distinct wallets paid it and how many paid calls it served in the last 30 days. For this group on 2026-10-12, the listings that report counts served 701 paid calls, 694 of them on Glassnode listings. The most-paid listing is Glassnode's percent of supply on exchanges, with 7 paying wallets and 624 paid calls. Its other four listings served 70 paid calls together. Both lower-priced sellers had 2 or 3 paying wallets and 2 or 3 paid calls. The two PayAI listings carry no counts, and Vextorium's Spanish-language alias has counts of its own, shown as a separate row. Tanod's Bazaar listing exists but reports no payer count yet.

Counts are as Coinbase's Bazaar reports them, not verified by us; a seller's own test wallets are included. Every listing's counts are in the CC BY 4.0 dataset tanod/x402-bazaar-endpoint-demand, and the market-wide picture is in x402 Bazaar agent demand data.

| Host and path | What the listing says | Listed price (USD) | Seen on |
|---|---|---|---|
api.vextorium.com/v1/exchange-reserves | On-chain reserves of centralized exchanges from their published wallets: totals with and without the exchange's own token, net inflows and outflows over 24 hours, 7 and 30 days, spot and derivatives volume, open interest | 0.004 | Bazaar |
api.agentstools.dev/cex/reserves | Reserve breakdown of one centralized exchange: total on-chain reserves, reserves without its own token, own-token concentration, volumes, leverage, 24 hour, 1 week and 1 month netflow. DefiLlama source; the listing says reserves are a proxy, not proof of solvency | 0.005 | Bazaar |
payai.agentstools.dev/cex/reserves | The same reserve breakdown, listed on PayAI | 0.005 | PayAI |
payai.agentstools.dev/cex/solvency | Solvency and proof-of-reserves verdict for one centralized exchange: reserve totals, own-token concentration, netflow stress, a 0 to 100 score with a rating and risk flags | 0.02 | PayAI |

Close, but not counted

It ranks exchanges and does not report the reserves of a coin.crypto.forgemesh.io/api/whaleandkronos.forgemesh.io/api/whale, USD 0.02: whale and exchange flow alerts for a chain and lookback window. Method
- Source: Tanod's agent index of the CDP x402 Bazaar and PayAI, snapshot 2026-10-12 (newest listing seen 2026-10-12T16:54:28Z). The MCP registry and Smithery carry no per-call price and are not used, so MCP servers that mention exchange netflow or proof of reserve are not counted. Internal-only sources are not used.
- Match: listings with a price, last seen on or after 2026-10-09, whose name, URL or description says exchange reserves, CEX reserves, proof of reserves, reserves of centralized exchanges, the balance of a coin on exchanges, or coins moving to, from or into exchanges. The patterns are the
exchange-reservesrule inops/x402_category_prices.py. We then read all 10 matches by hand and kept all of them. - Excluded: DEX volume and TVL catalogues, whale alert feeds, composite market scores, and listing farms. Tanod's own routes are not counted.
- Deduplicated: the same host serving one description at one price under two paths counts once, so 10 listings became 9 offers. A path listed on a second hostname counts as its own offer, so agentstools.dev shows 3 offers on 2 hostnames and counts as one seller.
- The matches are two kinds. Vextorium and agentstools.dev sell the reserves of one exchange at a time. Glassnode sells per-coin metrics over exchange addresses. Tanod sells one coin across exchanges. They answer related but different questions.
- Quartiles use linear interpolation. Listed price is the first payment requirement. Listings can be stale or wrong. The count depends on the match rules above; a looser rule finds more.
Where Tanod fits
Tanod's route is POST /v1/chain/exchange-reserves, USD 0.01 per call. It is one of the on-chain reads that share the /v1/chain/ path with the balance, gas, block and transaction routes of Tanod Chain (openapi.json). The route itself is listed in the Tanod Finance family at finance.tanod.dev, as MCP tool get_exchange_reserves on https://tanod.dev/mcp/finance and on the full server at https://tanod.dev/mcp.
You send a coin symbol such as BTC, ETH, USDT or USDC, and optionally up to 20 exchanges and 1 to 90 days of history. For each exchange you get the amount, USD value, share of the total, the change over 1, 7 and 30 days and a 7 day direction, with totals and a daily history. The data is DefiLlama's centralised-exchange wallet tracking, used with permission, served from Tanod's own cache that is refreshed every few hours. The guide has the full response: exchange reserves API.
When a priced listing above is the better choice
- You want the total reserves of one exchange across all its assets, with and without its own token, or its derivatives volume and open interest. Vextorium and agentstools.dev list that, at USD 0.004 and USD 0.005. Tanod returns one coin at a time.
- You want a solvency rating for an exchange. agentstools.dev lists a 0 to 100 score at USD 0.02. Tanod does not rate an exchange and says its reserves figures are not a statement about solvency.
- You want Glassnode's own definitions, such as the share of supply on exchanges or the net transfer volume, or its wider catalogue of on-chain metrics. Tanod does not return those series.
When Tanod fits
- You want one coin across every tracked exchange in one call: amount, USD value, share and 1, 7 and 30 day change per exchange, totals, and up to 90 days of daily history.
- You want a lower price than Glassnode's listed USD 0.05. 1,000 calls cost USD 10.00 at Tanod, against USD 50.00 at USD 0.05. The two cheaper sellers list USD 4.00 and USD 5.00 for 1,000 calls of a different, per-exchange read.
- You want a call that is not charged when it fails. Tanod charges only for an HTTP 200. A 4xx or 5xx, including a stale or missing cache, is free and can be retried at once.
- You want to try it first: 10 free chain reads per IP per UTC day with the header
X-Tanod-Free: 1, shared with Tanod's other chain reads.
curl -s -X POST https://tanod.dev/v1/chain/exchange-reserves \
-H 'content-type: application/json' -H 'X-Tanod-Free: 1' \
-d '{"asset": "BTC", "exchanges": ["okx", "bitfinex"], "days": 3}'Price and free allowance
USD 0.01 per call, paid in USDC on Base, Polygon, Solana or BNB Chain with x402, or on Tempo with MPP. Free tier as above. MCP tool: get_exchange_reserves at https://tanod.dev/mcp, where the free tier is automatic.
