PDF, Office and OCR tools for BlockRun and ClawRouter agents
Updated 2026-10-13
BlockRun is an x402 gateway: an agent pays per call in USDC on Base or Solana, with no account or API key. Its catalog covers language models, image, video and audio generation, web search, prediction-market and DeFi data, phone calls and chain RPC. Its OpenAPI document listed 98 paths on 13 October 2026, 46 of them prediction-market data. It reads public web pages as Markdown through Exa, but no route takes a file you upload: there is no Word, Excel or PowerPoint conversion, no table extraction from PDFs and no OCR. ClawRouter, BlockRun's open-source model router, pays from the same kind of local wallet.
Tanod sells those file tools the same way, priced per call and paid in USDC through x402. Tanod is not affiliated with BlockRun.
What an agent can buy for documents
The price per call (USDC; the 402 response states the exact amount):
| Route | Does | Price |
|---|---|---|
POST /v1/docs/to-markdown | PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, EPUB, HTML or CSV to Markdown | USD 0.005 |
POST /v1/pdf/tables | Tables from a PDF as CSV or JSON | USD 0.01 |
POST /v1/ocr | Text from an image | USD 0.0025 |
POST /v1/pdf/ocr | A scanned PDF made searchable | USD 0.01 to 0.02 |
POST /v1/docs/to-pdf | Word, Excel or PowerPoint to PDF | USD 0.01 |
POST /v1/pdf/merge | Merge PDFs | USD 0.005 |
Every route and its request schema are in the OpenAPI document. Files go in as base64 or as a public URL. Executables, archives and other non-documents are refused with a 415 and not charged (what the converter refuses).
Paying from the wallet you already use
Our routes accept USDC on Base, Polygon, Solana or BNB Chain. A call without payment returns HTTP 402 with the price, the network and the address to pay; an x402 client signs a USDC authorization and repeats the call. Payment settles only when the call returns an answer. Any wallet holding USDC on Base or Solana, the two networks BlockRun uses, can pay through a standard x402 client.
curl -s -X POST https://tanod.dev/v1/docs/to-markdown \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"url": "https://www.w3.org/WAI/ER/tests/xhtml/testfiles/resources/pdf/dummy.pdf"}'
# -> HTTP 402 with the price; an x402 client pays and retries
From Claude Code, the same tools are one MCP server away, next to BlockRun's. The free daily allowance applies automatically:
claude mcp add --transport http \
tanod https://tanod.dev/mcp
Try a route before you pay
Most routes have a small free daily allowance per IP address: send X-Tanod-Free: 1 on an unpaid call.
What this page does not cover
- We have not tested whether BlockRun's own MCP server or SDKs will sign a payment for another seller's 402. If yours does not, use any standard x402 client, or the MCP server above.
- BlockRun's catalog changes often; the description above is from its public agent guide and OpenAPI document on 13 October 2026.
