Prediction markets API: search Polymarket odds from an agent

An agent writing a market brief, checking how a crowd prices an election or a rate decision, or adding context to a news summary often wants the current prediction-market odds. POST https://tanod.dev/v1/markets/predictions searches Polymarket and returns each matching market with its outcome prices read as implied probabilities. It costs USD 0.004, paid in USDC on Base, Polygon or Solana through x402, with no account or API key. The utilpeek free pool gives 10 calls per IP per UTC day (header X-Tanod-Free: 1). It is also the MCP tool search_prediction_markets at https://tanod.dev/mcp.

What you send

All fields are optional. q (2 to 100 characters) searches market titles; leave it out to list markets. status is active (default), closed or all. sort is relevance (default with q), volume (default without), liquidity or end_date. limit is 1 to 25 (default 10).

curl -s -X POST https://tanod.dev/v1/markets/predictions \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" -H "X-Tanod-Free: 1" \
  -d '{"q": "bitcoin", "limit": 1}'

What you get

A real reply to that request on 2026-10-10, shortened:

{"query": "bitcoin", "status": "active", "sorted_by": "relevance", "count": 1, "cache": "fetched",
 "markets": [{"question": "Will the price of Bitcoin be above $74,000 on October 10?",
   "outcomes": [{"name": "Yes", "price": 0.9995, "probability_pct": 99.95},
                {"name": "No", "price": 0.0005, "probability_pct": 0.05}],
   "volume_usd": 88360.56, "volume_24h_usd": 84557.19, "liquidity_usd": 120130.68,
   "end_date": "2026-10-10T16:00:00Z", "url": "https://polymarket.com/event/bitcoin-above-on-october-10-2026"}],
 "disclaimer": "Data only, not betting advice. ..."}

Each reply names its source (the Polymarket Gamma API, with a docs link) and carries a disclaimer your agent can pass on.

How it works

Tanod reads the public Polymarket Gamma API at request time and caches each answer for up to 60 seconds; the cache field says whether this reply was fetched or cached. Prices are Polymarket's quoted outcome prices and can lag the order book. Liquidity and volume let an agent skip thin markets whose prices say little.
